Break-Fast: Chihuly and Auguste Herbin

I just got back from break-fast at an old family friends which included me eating up a storm and also meeting Dale Chihuly, who if you don't know is the most famous glass blower in the world. I guess my mom is really good friends with his wife and she hasn't really ever told me.



Also the person whose condo i was at has lots of art on display including Auguste Herbin who I am definatly going to look into the next couple of days.

Yom Kippur Part 2

I just got back from evening services and my rabbi got a little political with healthcare and global warming which was not needed. Though his overall message was thinking about future generations of your family and not yourself.

Julian Schwarz who graduated from Lakeside last year and is on his way to becoming the next Yo Yo Ma was amazing on the Cello. He allways plays a piece towards the end of the service. I got a little emotional and said to him jokingly after the service, "That is the closest a man has ever gotten me to crying."

Yom Kippur

Tonight at sundown is the start of Yom Kippur, or "yom kipper" as i like to call it. It is the Jewish day of atonement. So in Jewish tradition I am fasting for a day to right all my wrongs. I hope that all of you out there can reflect on the past year even if your not Jewish.

Anyway I hope it will be a good service tonight because our Rabbi is known for "performing" up on the bima (pulpit) with a fucking guitar. why is this wrong?

1)Temple isn't supposed to be a fucking jam session
2)This is like the Pope playing stairway instead of doing his Christmas speech
3)It just makes him look unprofessional

Also one time I went to temple his sermon fucking told me the ending to The Sopranos series conclusion where the screen just goes black. I will tell you what is wrong with this:

1)Why the fuck is my Rabbi talking about a HBO show
2)Now i can't watch the sopranos because i know how it fucking ends

Finally last weekend for the jewish new year he talked about facebook. WTF! I DON"T WANT A FUCKING SOCIAL COMMENTARY ON WEBSITES (thats what engadget does.) I WANT MY FUCKING JUDAISM.

I'm going to be honest though. besides all the negatives he is still a good speaker. He just needs to improve his subject matter
