Solar panels create power for day, while a pumped water storage system provides power by night. On top of that it's a giant man made waterfall that looks surreal.
This building took the trees surrounding it as an inspiration for the building. It is beautiful. I'm guessing they got the pillar trees from a fractal equation. It is a conversion of old colonial buildings in mumbai. Anyway here are some pics.
The dining room walls are 3 dimensional and are also inspired by the trees. It was designed so each piece of wood could be crafted with fairly primitive tools.
VERDICT? ONE WITH NATURE HASN"T EVER LOOKED SO GOOD!
The Axis Viana Hotel is awesome. Especially how looking at it at different angles show different interesting perspectives. It also contains the coolest looking pool ever.
I found this this summer on my Google reader, but couldn't find it in my vast list of starred posts. A second blog I follow posted this, so i found it! This is hands down the most trippy thing I have ever seen. Some of the parts look real, it is really freaky! It pails in comparison to the other projection video i posted here. Amanda Levete Architects won best interior at the world architecture festival. The main concept is create a seemless change from a netural (like a wall) to an active space (like a bench.) Here are the many concepts that they came up with:
This equivalent to a YMCA center in the US is rightfully called a Sports and Leisure Center. It is designed for the youth of Saint Cloud, France as a celebration and sports place. This building looks beautiful from the inside out with its huge pallet of colors that fit a child's personality. This structure is built by a robot that is programed to build patterns that could not be built exactly the same by hand. No human could build this structure as precise.
