The Funniest Public Access host ever.

Huell Howser is the best. He is on Los Angles Public TV. He recently was put on the latest Simpsons episode for being on public tv for 25 years. I know its not intentional, but he is fucking halarious.

What The Jordan 2010 should look like

Now I couldn't rock either of these shoes my self because they seem strictly for the court, but damn are they sexy shoes. The designers of the lebron 7s and the kobe 5s should teach the jordan guy how to design fucking shoes.

If you do not know who Animal Collective is, you should because they are hands down my favorite band right now. There is absolutely no other band that sounds like them. With their latest album Merriweather Post Pavilion recently becoming the Album of the Year on Pitchfork.com (the biggest online music website), it is about time the band makes a shirt based off the album cover. Just look at the album cover above...do you notice anything? That is right, it is an illusion. If you look at it the right way you can see the picture move like a wave. Now imagine that on a shirt...the whole upper part of your body is a moving wave!

Trippy and awesome. Now...how am i gonna get my hands on this...

Sorry I havn't been posting as much as I should. Last week was really stressful for me hw wise. Who knew quant phys could be so hard. Anyways now that I am in palm springs stuck with my dad and brother, I will have lots of time to keep everyone happy. Stay tuned for ADVENTURES IN OLD PERSON LAND!

Indie Games I'm Addicted To: Captain Forever

So some how i have come across the best online game in existence. It is called Captain Forever and it is made by a man named Farbs. You start out as a small ship and you are quickly given 4 modular boxes, 2 lasers, and 2 thrusters. Now it's up to you to build your ship however you like!



Use your mouse to put your ship together. It takes awhile to get used to putting it on the right side, but once you get the hang of it you can change your ship in seconds.




When your ship is done use WASD and QE on the keyboard to move and Space Bar to shoot. Also it is useful to zoom out and in using R and F so you can see the surrounding enemys.


This game is all about progression so you start out with the low level green parts and attack green ships to get more parts for your ship. Once you build a good enough ship you will be able to take on a orange ship which will leave orange ship parts. Then once you got a stronger orange ship you can take on red.

What sets this apart from lets say other games where you have this "big fish, little fish" mechanic is if the ship is a way higher level than you, but you see a weak point where there are no guns you can take it out strategically. I highly recommend this game!

Above I am green which is what you start as and below I am purple which is about midway through the game.



Here you can see that I'm purple and on the left there is a higher level blue. He has hella guns so it would be suicide to try to attack him! Also there is a smaller orange ship which i could take out easily as a purple guy.

Apple Rumors

just read on engadget that Apple has put out a job description for a person "to handle a project involving 3D graphics & environments, character design and multimedia experiences"

Pair this with the hiring of an ex Ensemble (people who made the Age of Empires Series and Halo Wars) lead designer and you might expect some sorta Xbox Live like experience for the IPhone in the future.

This is a very logical step for a platform that has become a major gaming source. Making ways to connect IPhone users through their mobile games seems like a logical step to make the gaming experience more streamline. This is weird for Apple who have a history of not being best friends with video games.

Nice Use of Fractals

This building took the trees surrounding it as an inspiration for the building. It is beautiful. I'm guessing they got the pillar trees from a fractal equation. It is a conversion of old colonial buildings in mumbai. Anyway here are some pics.





The dining room walls are 3 dimensional and are also inspired by the trees. It was designed so each piece of wood could be crafted with fairly primitive tools.

Sexiest Hotel ever.

The Axis Viana Hotel is awesome. Especially how looking at it at different angles show different interesting perspectives. It also contains the coolest looking pool ever.

FACADE PROJECTION

I found this this summer on my Google reader, but couldn't find it in my vast list of starred posts. A second blog I follow posted this, so i found it! This is hands down the most trippy thing I have ever seen. Some of the parts look real, it is really freaky! It pails in comparison to the other projection video i posted here. Anyway this one is on some sorta modern art museum: Galerie der Gegenwart. I googled it and its all in another language (i think german or dutch) so i could not really get good info on it! anyway here is the video...PREPARE TO BE IN AWE

SHMU MOVIE REVIEW: Fantastic Mr. Fox

So last weekend I saw Fantastic Mr. Fox. Recommendation: GO SEE IT NOW. It is directed by WES ANDERSON and it is his first animated feature. If you do not know who Wes Anderson Is, you are an idiot. He has also created my favorite movie The Darjeeling Limited, and movies like: The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Most of his movies are funny with a serious edge, it is the perfect mix. The humor in his movies is always really witty.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is probably the funniest and wittiest to date. The plot is based off a good old Roald Dahl book (remember Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, BFG, James and the Giant Peach, The Twits, and Mitilda.) Mr. Fox, in Fantastic Mr. Fox, is thought to be based off Roald Dahl. So Wes Anderson Stayed at the Dahl House and learned everything about him from his wife.

Also the entire movie was in stop motion and everything in it is handmade. Every set in the movie was modeled in miniature form (including scale models of furniture from Dahl's House to furnish Mr. Fox's Tree.) All the dolls were made from adjustable metal skeletal frames with a surface put over it made of actual animal fur, and miniature clothing.

Anyway this style of animation really fit the movie. It was fun, outrageous, and witty. My favorite character was defiantly Ash who is Mr. Fox's Son. If you see the movie you will why I like him so much. Since this movie is one of my top 3 favorite movies, I don't wanna spoil anything for you so I'll leave you with two trailers for the movie.

This book was found in the vast library at my camp. This Book Cover is CLASSIC. The title of the book combo'd with the drawing of the two boys. It looks like hes getting it from behind. I hope this was unintentional.
